Sleigh Rides

Go back in time and experience the Rocky Mountains on horse-drawn sleighs! Truly capturing the mystique and beauty of the evening mountain scenery, a sleigh ride through the pine-scented air stands as an experience you surely will not want to miss during your visit to Breckenridge. The Grand Timber Lodge Activities Desk works with multiple companies to provide you with a variety of experiences that you can share with that special person in your life or with the entire family.

Breck Stables: Located just minutes away from Grand Timber Lodge, meet at a lodge nestled at the base of Peak 9 on the Breckenridge Ski Resort. After signing in, you will be escorted out to an oversized sleigh and will be led by a team of horses through the trails of the ski resort under the evening sky, all while sipping on hot chocolate. If you find yourself in search of a more intimate experience, don’t forget to ask about the private and dinner sleigh rides that Breck Stables has to offer!

Nordic Sleigh Rides: Travel only a few miles north of Breckenridge and load up for an evening sleigh ride guiding you to a miners’ camp with authentic artifacts dating back almost 170 years! The Nordic Sleigh Ride experience will be an evening enjoyed by the whole family as you enjoy both dinner and live entertainment at the miners’ camp. Prior to your arrival, you can choose from homemade sirloin, BBQ chicken, salmon or vegetable lasagna for dinner. With all the fixings to go along with your entrée, the best part of the meal might very well be the apple pies made from scratch, all cooked right over wood-fired ovens. If dinner is not enough, then you will surely remember all of the laughter shared during one of three mountain-themed comedies performed nightly.

Two Below Zero: Voted by Travel Channel’s Samantha Brown as being the “best thing she did while in Colorado,” Two Below Zero offers a true Colorado experience that you will not forget! After departing from the Frisco Nordic Center, a team of mules will wind their way through winding and wooded trails to a large heated dinner tent where plated dinner awaits you. Through dinner, also enjoy live entertainment by David Peel, former member of the Kingston Trio. With shorter hot chocolate sleigh rides also available for you and your party, the choice is up to you on how long you wish the adventure to last!
