Tubing and Sledding

Whether you are five years old or 50, nothing will bring an ear-to-ear smile to your face like riding down a hill on a sled! Here in Breckenridge, locals and visitors alike find themselves racing up hills on foot only to turn around and race back down on their sleds. As the years have gone by, area ski resorts and town recreation centers have even gone as far as to build tow ropes up the hill for visitors’ enjoyment. While in town, make sure to visit at least one, if not all, of the sledding and tubing hills that the area has to offer!

Carter Park: Situated only three blocks from Main Street in Breckenridge, Carter Park serves the town in the summer with an outdoor pavilion and spacious fields for recreational sports. In the winter, however, Carter Park serves up the locals with a perfect sledding hill. Bring your own sled and come out for an afternoon of sledding, free of charge, as you meet new friends and spend some great quality time with your family. Parking is available, but the Grand Timber Lodge Shuttle will be more than happy to drop you at this location!

Copper Mountain: Serving the community since 1997, the Copper Mountain Tubing Hill hails as the original tubing hill in Summit County. Whether you are in the mood for a short drive over to the Copper Village to do some shopping or you are hoping to wind down from a long day of skiing at Copper Mountain Resort, the tubing hill located in the East Village will prove to be an activity that will keep you coming back to Copper year after year.

Keystone Resort: With a special conveyor belt built for tubing enthusiasts, you can enjoy sliding down the mountains of Keystone as many times as you wish without the fear of ever getting tired. And while other tubing hills close as the sun goes down, Keystone offers tubing along with night skiing five days per week!

Frisco Adventure Park: While an array of activities is offered in the summer at the Frisco Adventure Park, most folks take more notice of the tubing hill located in the park during winter months while traveling on their way into Breckenridge. Open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day, Frisco Adventure Park offers tube rentals, and families can use the facility by the hour. Or, if you feel that your family will make multiple trips to the park during your vacation, a ten-hour transferable punch pass is also available.
