From the National Repertory Orchestra to the artist-in-residence at the Tin Shop, there are cultural offerings to satisfy just about any taste.
The National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) makes Breckenridge its home every summer and is one of the top student summer performance orchestras in the nation. The NRO performs two full orchestra concerts each week at the Riverwalk Center between late June and mid-August. In addition, members of the NRO take part in smaller chamber concerts. Breckenridge is home to a wonderful variety of art galleries. From fine art to blown glass to photography, Breckenridge offers a wide variety of artistic talent. Many artists have flocked to Breckenridge to draw inspiration from the majesty of the Rocky Mountains and set up their bases here. Summer brings many art festivals drawing artists from all over the West and beyond.
The Arts District of Breckenridge is located on the corner of South Ridge Street and East Washington Avenue. The west side of the Arts District is fronted by the Riverwalk Performing Arts Center, which is a year-round performance center that houses the Breckenridge Music Festival and the National Repertory Orchestra. On the east side is the Backstage Theater, which is home to Breckenridge’s local theater company.
